I'm at at cross roads... b on the left, d on the right

On the left, we have my new wagon chassis.
b18a1
no mods other than intake
unknown, but likely high mileage
the shift linkage is butchered, very hard to shift.
LS trans, clutch unknown... a whole lot of unknowns.
I like the torque for the mountains i live in, and it's not so 'strangling a cat'

on the right, d16a6 in my old chassis
45,000kms on rebuild
colt tri flow cam
obd1 converted, tuned on neptune
Si/Zc hybrid trans with LSD
DC header
I love the transmission, but the engine, although peppy, is a lot like strangling a cat when going uphill.

What do i do?

I feel like the right thing to do is convert the new chassis to obd1 and run my d16a6 until I can freshen up the b18a, I have access to a close ratio JDM YS1 with the LSD for next to nothing, but it's in pieces. I could do a custom gear swap with that... some Pr3 pistons, with a rebuild maybe. I don't know.

Sounds like you have it figured out. If you need the car to drive while freshening up the Bswap, put your A6 and goodies in. Is the old shell so rusted as to be undriveable?

    Good chassis = good idea.

It's "easy" enough to swap over the parts you have already modified like suspension and brakes.
