if i remember correctly, the only difference between the sedan and the wagon mufflers is that the sedan inlet pipe to the muffler goes over the rear lower control arm and the wagon goes under/closer to the center of the underside of the car. could it be fabbed easily? i guess it depends on who's doing the fab work. along with re-doing the inlet pipe to the muffler, you might have to modify the hangers. personally i think it would be rather easy. good luck.
  • Alright I've been creeping around this site and several others on and off for a few years and with my original 340,000 mile exhaust about to fall into the highway I am considering cheap replacements from eBay that seem to follow the original route down the middle and over the right rear lca.
my question is, being as I have never found a clear and exact answer, will the sedan style ebay exhaust work with a small length of pipe added to the straight before the resonator? or does it take more modification than this?

any exhaust you order will need some modification to fit. nothing will bold right up.

    BOSAL Part # 163381 (muffler)

    BOSAL Part # 284375 (midpipe)

Those are oem type replacements. I have similar Bosal parts on my CRX and they are pretty good quality. They're $70 each from rockauto.com. You might also need gaskets and bolts. If not that, go to your local bubba-truck muffler shop and have them custom make something for you... should be under $200 installed.

Merged with existing thread on the same topic.
  • What about the exhaust Manifold itself? is it different all the way to the motor?

I'm looking at Dorman 674545 and ATP 101276 Which look to maybe only be up to 1987 for the wagons?

In doing a quick reference on the original part number, which I believe is 18100-PM6-307 it does look like those manifolds should bolt up. Anyone confirm that? I'd rather not pay honda $350 for a manifold =D
