Another newb from Oregon with a '91RT4WD!

Hello everyone!
I'm new to the RT4wd scene! I'm a classic, hot rod type of guy but have always wanted an '88-'91 RT4wd. I finally picked one up! Its a little rough on the outside, not rust, just dents and dings but 99.9% perfect on the inside! I'm stoked! Its a 1.6 (from a CRX), manual trans that runs great. It needs fenders, hood and bumper cause PO has cut and hacked as well as dented these parts up. I plan on a rebuild as I drive kind of thing. I'm definately excited to meet other wagon owners, get ideas, and become part of this "community". Once I get the plan in order and actually get started. I'll start a build thread!
I'll post some pics of what it is now and show you what I got! I LOVE IT!!!

  • Welcome to the forum, pix are definitely a must! Lots of wagon owners up here in the pacific northwest!!
  • that 1.6 is most likely the stock motor, D16A6. Good luck on the fenders, not an easy/cheap thing to track down. I have a front bumper of a 90 2wd, not sure if they're the same, but I'll be down in Bend later this summer if you're interested and can't find one by then. Have a blue hood that might work as well.

In the meantime, let's see some pics!!!
  • I didn't get a chance for pictures yet. The kid I got the car from did say it was exactly the same motor it came from the factory with. Sad part is he hacked up the lower core support to put in a very small 1/2 size radiator and fan. Not sure why he didn't just get a radiator for a wagon instead?? I'm looking into a complete, new from Honda, core support. Upper and lower bars. We'll see. I'm gonna go get 2 really nice fenders this weekend from Portland. I am really interested in that hood for sure! Maybe I could pick it up from you and make a road trip out of it. Where are you and how much would you want for the hood? Thanks!
  • I'm in Tacoma, not sure what I would want for the hood, if you think it's worth the trip, let me get some pictures and we can work something out, I can't remember if it's mint or not...
  • Lol I'm looking through the forums on radiator info and found this. This guy is the one I bought my RT from. Small world.

Maybe he got the 1/2 size because he was planning to instal a turbo, needed more room?

Also, stock Wagon radiators are exactly the same as Sedan / Hatchback / CRX. If I remember correctly. I know I have previously taken a radiator from a wagon and dropped it in a sedan, and just last night installed a new sedan radiator in my wagon.
