Need help with my 1989 2wd 5dr dx rear brakes. :)

hello everyone,
i'm not from the US, we didnt had hondas in here before, 1991 so no pre 91 parts here :( . mine was imported from the US so its a one of a kind here :)

i need some help with my breaking system,
i looked everywhere in my country and i couldn't find rear brake cylinders, all i could find are the 91 ones that looks like this: 615.jpg

mine has studs in the middle of the fitting, looks like this:

so now i need to order the cylinders and shoes from the US, and i dont want to make a mistake and get the wrong ones, i contacted hondapartsnow and they said all the break parts for this model is on back order,

my question is: can anyone please give me a ebay link or a store link that has them. i will appreciate it alot!

here's my FB profile page:https://www.facebook.com/moshik.galimidi

thanks MG

  • Should be the same. The studs unscrew and you can put them into the new cylinder if they do not come with them. Rotate one of the above pics 180 degrees and the only difference is the studs and the bleeder port fitting...no big deal. I recently did my brakes and bought them here: http://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/Ca...10_0300823917# Napa shows the same part number for my 88 and your 89. Probably the same 88-91 too but you don't care about that.

The problem with stud swapping is tapping the hole. You'll have a much better chance of finding wheel cylinder rebuild kit 'cuz it fits way more cars.If you do get the rebuild kit make sure it is the one that comes with the pistons. So come only with seals.

The following cars use the same wheel cylinder:
    80-89 Civic
    88-89 CRX
    82 Honda Prelude
    84-89 WagoVan
    86-89 Integra

The best site for parts I 've used for years is
    Rockauto.com
    Great prices & selection.
