Body lift help

I am thinking of doing a 2-3 inch body lift on my RT4... what all is involved in doing a body lift? do i have to extend stuff like brake/fuel lines, wiring? also i am looking at 4 different size tires to put on it when/If i lift it... these r the wheels i am looking at
First a 225/75/15 http://www.1010tires.com/Tires/Ohtsu/AT4000/225-75R15
Second an aggresive 235/75/15 https://treadwright.com/p-7-235-75r15-crawler-m-t-p.aspx
Third a not so aggresive 235/75/15 https://treadwright.com/p-23-235-75r15-atg-p.aspx
fourth and finally a 205/75/15 http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=General&tireModel=Grabber+AT+2&sidewall=Outlined%20White%20Letters&partnum=075TR5GRAT2OWL&tab=Specs

I dont have Alot of money to put into the lift which is why i was thinking body lift versus suspension lift... Can anyone help me? ( i didnt see anything on the forum about Body lifts so tis why I ask the age old question about lift)

Bam's big wagon is body lifted and suspension lifted. And, the body lift is not the easy way to go.

Suspension is going to be your easy way to go.

Weather it be finding all the accord parts like 503 or Blocks like I made or hat extensions like Bam did.. Its actually not that complicated or expensive.

Body lift is only easy if your car isnt a unibody, otherwise you better be a very skilled fabricator
  • So i should refer to the lifting a wagon for dummies post then correct????

You can refer to lifting wagons for dummies, but There is a couple different ways to lift your wagon.

    Bam - made extended Top-Hats.
    DRMORTY(Me) - made machined bolt-on strut spacers.
503 - Swapped out some suspension pieces with other Hondas.
3rd4ce(Scrappy) - Was done a different way too, some spacing, some strut work & some cutting.

It really just depends how you want to go about it.

If your in Bam's next of the woods, I would stop by there and have him show you how he extended his top-hats. Same principle as the spacers I made & Probably your easiest way.

    Why, thank you! :)

yes, the body lift involved a LOT of effort, and about ten months of my time. The build thread for Fool's Gold followed the process closely if you care to wade through it. Will I do it over again? Not likely!

The suspension lift is easy, though, and as I have need of your skills I think we can work something out. Just bring me an extra set of tophats and the car. Maybe we can document the process and show how easy it is not to be a "dummy".

I noticed one of your tire choices is my size- 235/75/15. They scrub sometimes even on Goldie. With only suspension lift, you would need some serious cutting, ala Scrappy , to clear them.

ok what color r you thinking? and would this involve all three wagons or just the grey one.....

do you think these would work with the 1 1/2 inch blocks you were talking about today?
