Alright fellas,
I just want to know what aftermarket clutch and flywheel will do good with the stock tranny an 88 wagovan has.

    More info would help. What are your power goals? If you want to keep it stock I would recommend a stock replacement, otherwise it sorta depends on what you want.

    I ws planning on swappin out my motor with a b18b (I'm assuming that's the non-vtec LS motor, 142hp USDM?)

    But I gues I just wnt to tweak out my stock motor, see how much juice I could pull out.

    I'm thinking on putting cams, intake, headers, pulleys, ignition, and etc.

    Is it worth all the upgrades? Or should i just run bone stock with the LS motor

    I would say just swap it, unless you go high compression which still won't be that fast. You cold leave it stock and put a turbo on it. You could net close to 200hp and still be very reliable with a decent tune. You could even go higher than that and still probably be ok.

    the b18 (bone stock) would be a big upgrade from the d15 you've got now. the 142hp is a healthy number too. i say, keep it stock b18 for now and see how you like it. the more stock, the more gas you'll save too. and if you want more of an umph, then add some other mods.

    I've had plenty of B series, even had one in my wagon. I still say a SOHC ZC or D16A6 is a perfect engine to build up. Shave the head a bit, get a exospeed cam, a good breathing system (intake/exhaust) and an Si tranny are all really cheap and easy things to do. I ran some low 15s on a stock SOHC ZC in my hatch and an Si tranny on winter tires. That was when I didn't know how to drive either.

    SOHC when built can crush any stock B series for half the cost of even buying a B series engine plus the parts to swap it in. If yours is a 4wd, build the stock engine or swap in a SOHC VTEC engine.

    Stay with the stock. Vtec in the D is like a kid that's playing with someone's key ring; its definitely pointless but it may still entertain some and it annoys the hell out of me. :evil: :evil: Just put a bigger cam in the nonvtec. Lumpy idle FTW 8)
