Really enjoying this build, especially since you're from Seattle:) I admire your superior organizational skills and your ability to knock things out very cleanly. Hoping you can make the meet although it sounds unlikely due to having to get the car all the way to SF and back. Why heading so far way for a tune? Is there not a place here in state that can do it? Definitely subscribing and looking forward for more updates. These are the kinds of builds that get me pumped up to try and learn more about working on my wagon. BTW, how are you liking the Godspeeds? Looking forward to see what wheel choice you go with.
Thanks Knotty, your wagon looks like its coming along, real clean. Seattle is my jam, love this city. I just have good relations with the guys at SF and they are super helpful and real knowledgable when it comes to the RT4wd and are always down to talk. They're only in tacoma so its 30 minutes out. The Twin disc im running is actually out of James old race car. The godspeeds are real sick. I have the dampening all the way up and i really like it. Havent driven them with the new setup but i think they'll be stiff enough.
So the past month has been spent trying to find out why i had low compression. cylinders 1,2, and 4 were all at 50, fuuuu! and 3 was at 100. it was cranking like a mother. fuel was there. spark was good. and after all that it was the plugs, so simple.
So the vitara build is real sick in the wagon. the twin disc makes it sound nasty if im at a stop light. people automatically think my car is falling a part. The twin disc when disengaged/compressed "chime" together. never had a twin disc, but it grabs. everything seems to be ready for tune. im throwing a code 9, which is distributor related, but thats it.
Got it down to Speed factory for the exhaust. full 3" with a vibrant muffler. nicely tucked.
Downside, i need a new turbo. this hi-fi turbo is old and was rebuilt but its tired. sooooo, new precision 3231. its a little smaller so ill build boost a little faster going from a T4 to a T3. i need to get the flange cut and welded soon.
