Hi everyone! One more first generation Shuttle here!

Hello CivicWagon.com! My name is George, I am from the city of Nikolaev, located in Ukraine (Eastern Europe).
Three days ago I sold my previous project - 1982 JDM Toyota Corsa sedan (known as Toyota Tercel in US and Europe, though not available in sedan bodystyle in US). The car was lowered and had the 'oni kyan' (aka oni camber) setup on re-barreled R13\9J wheels.

And the next day I bought a beautiful... right, Honda Civic Shuttle for my next project and daily car at the same time. It is 1,4 EV carb, Front Wheel Drive, 5-speed manual with a\c (currently not hooked up). The paint job is not perfect, but it is freshly done by the previous owner. There are multiple drawbacks on the interior and exterior (cracked windshield, missing plastic elements, cracked corner light, etc). The main issue right now is the engine - it begs for a rebuild or swap and I am stuck deciding what that would be, calculating pros and cons for these two options.

I am here for the sake of knowledge, not Marketplace or local meets (though I welcome you if anyone will be passing by my city).

I am 27, male (as you've probably guessed from my name), divorced, raising a little daughter on bi-weekly bases (she lives with me for one week, and then lives with her mom, and so the cycle repeats). Every second week that is not spent with my daughter I spend at the garage with my dearest pal Andrew, who shares the love and passion for cars with me. He is a Honda guy, who eventually got me enloved with Hondas. He owns a 1996 Honda Civic (D16 swap, stripped interior, and various add-ons for a good time attack setup). He was always more of a racing guy, while I was always more of a cruising guy, and our project vehicles reflect that. But we do what we do together, helping each other out. I make my living working as a project manager at one of the IT companies that outsource projects from around the world.

This is what came across my mind right away, feel free to ask anything.

Nice wagon, its actually a 2nd gen, I have a 3rd gen, the only difference between ours is the headlights, mine are flush with the front and yours is recessed.

Good luck with the wagon, man. Some rebarreled wheels would definitely look good on it. I look forward to seeing the progress.

Well, I've got something different to try on the wagon... The set of pretty rare mesh wheels: Borbet Limited Mesh (also known as Borbet F, but later this name was given to a newer wheel model at Borbet product lineup), this is a limited edition series wheels that Abarth ordered from Borbet to put on their cars (Abarth for Fiats and Alfa Romeo's is similar to AMG for Mercedes, Hamman for BMW, Mugen for Hondas, etc). So here they are, my wheels:

and this is how they look with the wheel centercaps on (i've got those too ;)):

P.S. The tyres on them will be 195\45, Dunlops

The wheels are beautiful, man. I'm glad you actually know the history behind the wheels and have reason to choose them instead of just slapping them on because they're "JDM." Good luck with this build.

These are some aftermarket universal panels, sold in Eastern Europe for russian cars, they were installed in the body shop along with the paint job, so I don't know much on them. Actually I do not like them, as I am a fan of stock look, trying to drift away from 'riceism' as far as possible... I find sleeper cars with engine swaps and suspension mods hotter than badass-too-fast-too-furious looking cars that are totally stock inside and deliver lame driving experience...

(I hope I am not starting a riot here, it's just my point of view on modding the car)
  • Welcome to the site. Its amazing how this site has people from all over the world. You should start a build thread so we can see your progress. Nice to see an older wagon.
