New to ee

Hi, been building hondas for over a decade, just found my 88 rt a few months ago. I've been looking for one for over 12 years. I love it but the clutch pedal broke, and I'm having a hard time finding a new one. My wife was driving when it went, " it was getting really hard to shift, so I drove it untilled it wouldn't go any more". She knew I'd be able to fix it. I knew it was going bad and thought it would last a little longer, I was wrong. I'm glad I found this board, there is a lot of knowledge and resourceful people here. I hope to find some of you closer to me.

It's fairly easy to repair and reinforce the pedal assembly- easier than finding one to buy.
if you weld or have a friend that does, it's a cinch.

    Welcome aboard!
  • I've done it on other ef civics, I was just talking to my brother about pulling and welding it just so we don't have the same problem in the future.

Yep. Even if you replace it with a new one, it's a good idea to reinforce it.

You should do a write up when you reinforce it! I'll be needing it lol.
  • My brother and I will be going to the wrecking yard on Monday, if I can find my camera we'll take pics and do a write up. We're planing on at least strapping the pedal if we can't get a new welder by then. Ether way we'll try to do a write up.
