RIP - 87 RT4wd

Long time no visit.
If anybody remembers, a couple years back, I sold my wagon to a broke friend who just had his only car stolen and liability only insurance. He's a Honda tech and took great care of it. Even made some improvements...added A/C, fixed a couple low priority nagging things like a better throttle bracket for the carb and some interior work. When he decided to sell it, I was supposed to get first right of refusal. And we had recently been talking about just that.
But dumb b!+ches who drive big SUVs had other ideas. Her Nissan Armada and poor driving creamed the wagon. Undriveable, total loss, she was at fault.
And then, to add insult to injury. My friend, in a fit of stupidity, parked it as his parents rural property while he figured out what to do with it. Why is that stupid? Well, ALL of Texas has been in the worst drought in centuries. Until recently. We've gotten more rain the 1st quarter than all of last year. Long story short, the wagon was flooded. Submerged to nearly the windows. So there ain't nothin to salvage either. @$#!%
I mean, he feels bad, but I still want to smack him. He did get a first gen CRV with RT4wd. It's not the same, but he tries.
So I guess when its time to go...its going, whether you like it or not.
I drove this car in high school (19 years ago). And I mean drove the sh!+ out of it...it took it all without complaint.
The great overhaul of 2003-4 ensured it would be on the road another 10 years easily.
Almost had it back, too. Oh, well. Still have the CRX and a Ruckus now, so I'll find something to do with my time. Unless a wagon full of money falls out of the sky, I won't be looking for another.
So now, with finality, our paths part.
Good luck with your wago-ventures. And watch out for b!+ches in Armadas.
