New in Utah

Hey HCW. I figured that it's time to stop lurking here. I'm currently driving a 2010 Mazdaspeed3. I love my car but since it was new my only regret was the FWD in the winter. Driving a 5 door is one of the best decisions I have made in a car. Last year my wife agreed to part with her Jeep Cherokee for something with better mpg's for her commute. I've recently agreed that I would be willing to part with my baby too, buy something a little cheaper and put the extra cash into savings and other things. She couldn't have been happier when I told her that my dream was to get an 88-91 RT4WD. In fact she was the only one who didn't think I was crazy.

So, I don't have a Wagon as of right now. And I know that what I'm looking for isn't necessarily the easiest thing to find, but as soon as I've got my sale and new purchase ironed out I'll put anything useful I can contribute here.

Thanks for all the good info that I've already read and for what I'm sure I'll be getting soon.

Finally picked up the wagon about a week ago!! I was just about to go out of state to pick one up when one popped up on the local classifieds. D16Z6 swap was already in the plans... the previous owner did that already and it was only 10 minutes away! You can see the Mazda in the picture, goodbye old friend... hello new friend.

Here is the list of plans (which I know will continue to evolve as time goes on):

    -Lower!!!
    -Bigger Front Brakes
    -Cold Air Intake
    -Possibly New Carpet
    -"New" Front Seat Swap
    -Headliner Cover
-Dye Interior Plastics (Make them "new" again)
    -Steering wheel
    -Possibly put AC in someday
-Make a cargo cover for it
-Rims (still deciding which ones to go with)
-Repaint someday but first I want to fix the rust spot on the drivers side rear wheel well and the little dings
-Roof Rack for mountain biking and snowboarding!!
-Possibly trailer hitch for small trailer
    -Window Tint
    -Add passenger mirror

I haven't finished all of my research on all of my projects yet but the work will go forward slowly and surely. I'm looking forward to keeping you updated and learning from everyone here.
