New '91 Wagon Owner

Hello All,
As of yesterday, I'm a proud new owner of a 1991 Honda Civic Wagon. It is white in color with 181,000 miles. The car came with all maintenance records since it was purchased (including the purchase receipt) The service records were 90% from a local Honda Dealer. The car had regular service intervals performed and was on it's 3rd generation family member. I'm excited to see everyone's great restoration projects as it gives me plenty of ideas and hope.
I have begun the process of restoration along with my 2 kids 12/15yrs. In an attempt to bring this tired car back to life, I'm also showing my kids the since of pride and ownership from restoring and older car. I really feel that this will make them appreciate the things they have much more as I begin to teach them how to drive.

With that being said, I hate to break the news to you, but that isn't a Wagovan.... just FYI

If you decide you want to change your name so people don't continue to point this out to you, let me know...

Welcome to the forum. The "wagon" is clean and should be a great project for you and your kids. I chuckle sometimes when people say "older car" because I drive a '78 Civic wagon lol! I also own a '90 white Wagon which looks like the ugly rusty step brother to your nice factory maintained, 1 family wagon. What are your plans for it? From the looks and sound of it, I would just clean it up, do some maintenance and drive it everyday.
  • Welcome to the site. Any other pictures, what are you plans? Looks like a great find. Keep us posted.

My plans are to get it thoroughly cleaned up in side and out. The intention is to use it as a daily driver and reduce my overall gas consumption which equals more money in my pocket...and less to the oil companies. I also need to add another car to the inventory to support teenagers driving soon.

In no particular order these are my plans:
    - Repair the seats, scrub the funk out, and throw some covers.
    - Replace the stereo and speakers...gotta have tunes.
    - Tint the windows with about 20%.
    - Address the rust issues around the fender wells.
    - Change the front/rear bumpers to the paintable ones. Maybe a CRX front and rear RT4WD???.
    - Have it painted from end to end undecided on the color...may stick to original.
    - Customize the headliner...as inspired by all the awesome artwork on here.
    - Upgrade the wheels and tires.

    - Install some lowering springs.
    - Install roof rack.
