Hi all,new 91' RT4 owner in PDX

My son and I just bought a pretty nice 91 RT4 6 speed for his first car! We found it in Seattle and he is very excited about some gentle mods while still keeping the car somewhat stock. Its in prety good condition. I am having the car detailed for him, owner had several dogs and dog hair was everywhere, but no rips or tears in the seats, just a lot of hair! I have seen some VAERY nice wagons on this site and appreciate the true pros willing to guide some of us newbies so we dont screw anything up. Will try and post pic when we get it back tomorrow. :D

Thanks all! Just got the wagon back from the detailer and what a mess they made of it. The guy spray painted the wheels white!! needless to say we did not pay and will now have to strip the wheels and repaint them, or find new ones. Very disappointing. We are looking to possibly lower slightly, exhaust upgrade. We found a nice Yakima rack on CL last night for $50 so son can haul his bikes. He says we need to upgrade stereo. also looking at exhaust upgrade. Need to get through DEQ first. Again, thanks for all the replies. I am finding all kinds of great info from members on this site!
  • Tein s tech springs will lower you slightly and tokico blue struts arent too bad.. Thats a decently nice setup for not a bad price IMO.. But there are PLENTY of build threads on here with guys that are on a spring strut combo that you can get ideas from

I wish i could find me a bike rack that cheap!!! Nice find! What kind of exhaust are you looking at getting?

As for the car sterio system i personally recommend a kenwood headunit with JL audio speakers.. The speakers are sooo clear and have great mid and low pickup.. Theyre a bit expensive IMO but WELL worth it..

Thanks for all the great advise. Cody, you are right, it is a red one! just put the rack on tonight and will try and figure out how to post a pic. Thanks again for the welcome.
  • Congrats on your new RT, I think that was one of the ones I was watching on CL for a while. I passed up on it because Red just can't seem to grow on me. It's a little funny how we both went out of state to get ours, kinda evened everything out. I took one from Oregon to Washington and you took one from Washington back to Oregon lol.
  • Sounds like it looks good.. You could just upload your photos to photobucket and copy the IMG tags

Congrats to a fellow '91 RT owner, mine is red as well. Also, great find on such a cheap Yakima, that's awesome!
