1990 FWD Blue wagon

Hi all! This is my very first Honda car! I really like it so far. Just bought it with 154K on it, the timing cover says the belt was changed at 96,000 miles. Is it time to change it again? It has a 1.5 and auto transmission. Not my favorite combination, I prefer manual trans, but this car is perfect for our needs as a family & we have hobbies that require a wagon or hatch back to haul our stuff in. So it ought to work out.

We have to do some body work, and rather than use a bunch of body filler, I bought my husband a new Mig welder (another $750) and some sheet metal, and we're doing it right.

I like the rubber body molding, but it seems to collect the salt from our northern roads. Has anyone ditched the side molding on the doors and rockers and liked the end result?

Changes I'd like to make to it this year...

-Tint rear windows
-Weld new metal onto rusted areas around doors and rockers.
-Prime and/or paint
-Add a roof rack
-Upgrade from Kenwood Tape deck and stock speakers, to new speakers & CD Player w/ USB port & accessory input.
(Question... Has anyone had issues with AM/FM reception w/ stock antenna? What have you done to remedy that?)
-Clean up interior
-New struts (can't lower it as we live on back roads...so need suggestions for a good strut for people that haul stuff and live on bumpy roads)
-Find a new "H" for the front/hood so that people will stop asking me what kinda car it is. :)

Oh...in case anyone is wondering what the truck is in the bottom pic, that's my husband's 1978 Toyota Pickup. I talked my brother into buying it 7 yrs ago. He drove it home, drove it for 15 days...then parked it. Sold it to my sister, she drove it for 5 mos, tried to sell it, then parked it at our house for many months. We talked her into selling it to us (I wanted it all along!!) and My husband got it mechanically sound, it too will be needing a paint job soon, as you can see.

Welcome to the forum, and congratulations.

I haven't had any problem with the antennae on any of mine, just make sure it's connected.
Regular stock replacement struts should be just fine (Monroe, Gabriel or the like).
