homemade adjustable c pilar brace 91 fwd wago

so the car came with a front strut tower bar, wanted to stiffen up the rear without taking out my sound system and using the rear strut tower mounts. so instead im making a c pilar brace. just did a quick sketch to show my idea. will post pics as i build over the next few days.

C-pillar bars doesn't stiffen much at all.. if anything..

I would look into making an X Brace if you need to stiffen things up... You could still use the seat belt mounts for the top of the X

If your Not actually Racing and Cornering, then your just doing it for looks... So, your way could work too.

i think it would definately help. i get alot of body roll or twist on the track and end up with one rear wheel in the air when pushin corners hard. need to even out the stiffness up top to match the stiffened coilovers below. rear strut tower bar would probably be better but like i said i dont want to remove my sound system, also this is very simple to make and free so i dont see the harm in trying at very least.

Do you have a pic of your system? The rear strut bar does not take up that much space. Just wondering what it would hinder. So a pic would be nice

    lol

Maybe consider a sway bar to manage your rolling.

Duh. Yeah the swaybar is going to give you that racecar handling you are after. ST makes one.
