new to the honda wagon world

Hey guys, my names Alex. I'm 20 and I'm gonna be buying an 89 civic wagon in a few weeks.
I was just wondering if you guys could help me out with what i can do for upgrades to it as far as motor and body is concerned.
I noticed there isnt a whole lot out there as far as body kits and everything else and i have a few questions:
are these little wagons fast?
whats good about them and how can i get a cool unique look with them?
I'm normally a ford guy but my explorer is on its last leg and my friends been getting me into honda's he owns the wagon and currently owns a 91 crx himself so i wanna make this thing look as cool as it can.
Also is there really a market for these as far as people wanting them? do they retain there value like other honda's?
Thanks for all the help in advance guys and I hope you welcome a newby like me.

Have a look around the forum and you will find the answers to basically all your querstions. The build threads are a great place to start as you can see what others have done which will give you ideas and inspiration
There are a ton of direction you can go with your wagon. I understand you're young and have a lot of questions. my first set of advice to you is read read read, research research research. Dont just slap a bunch of shit on your wagon because you like it. try to plan a build, get a point you want to be at in a year and work towards it. the more you analyze your thoughts the better your build will come out.
I'm gonna go with a royal blue paint job, white rims, a small wing off the back, dye the interior black and maybe do something a little unique on the hood and rear hatch ( maybe painted on CF until i can save up for a real CF)
All my friends think its a terrible idea and that this style was popular 10-12 years ago, but I honestly think it'll look nice when its done.
I've also been trying to find some things out by asking on here but I guess I keep asking them in the wrong places in the forums (sorry)
I've been reading and researching for about 2 days straight, trying to learn everything i can about this little wagon.
