B20 into 88 wagovan

I'm looking into putting a B20 w/b18 tranny into my 88 wagovan for auto-crossing as well as having it as a daily driven car. Not looking into having it turboed. Everything stock. Would the motor mounts fit perfectly or would I have to do some mods?

I also heard if I put shocks from a 89 4dr civic into my wagovan and the springs from a 89 4dr civic in my wagovan, would drop it 2in. Would that be a safe thing to do. Or should I spend the extra money and do it properly.

Also, what suspension would do good for a wagovan.

  • As long as you have b-series conversion mounts, axles, shift linkages, intermediate axle, rear tranny mount, and MPFI wiring, everything else should work.

I'm not sure about the shocks. I know the wagons have lower mounts with longer springs, and the civic has higher mounts with shorter springs. I think it blances out.

I have Skunk2 springs with stock shocks and front/rear strut bars. My car handles like a dream!

Use the Wgn shx. It's as safe as any other EF 2" drop.

All the same mods you'd do on a CRX(or EF Civic).Keep in mind that the Wgn has a bit mo oversteer(lossier),but that's a good thing.

I was thinking about putting Tien super street coilovers as well as Tokico springs and shocks due to my brother in-law had an ae86 with Tokico springs and shocks and that handled like it was on rails.
