rt exhaust questions

recently i noticed that my car has been a little louder than normal, sounding similar to my other car with a cat back on it, and today i noticed that my muffler has apparently rusted off from the rest of the piping, and is just hanging there by the hangers, not connected at all.
first of all, i'm wondering if the mufflers and piping on these were originally all one piece, because it looks like there is a flange where the muffler was bolted to the rest of the exhaust (this is where it rusted and broke off) or if a previous owner had done some for of exhaust work.
secondly i'm considering if i would be better off just buying a new muffler and attaching it to the old piping or if i should look into having an entire exhaust made. i know having one made will be a lot more costly, but i'm not sure if it would be worth mounting a new muffler on pipe that has already rusted through once
and does anyone have a general idea what a cat back would cost to have made, or a decent muffler would be to look at?

You can buy just the axle-back in either DX or RT version. (RT has the twin-tip muffler)
To have a custom cat-back made, you're looking at 3 bills-ish
i'm probably going to head out tomorrow and price having something built up for a cat-back, hopefully i'm going to be able to get started on a mild build shortly, so its a place to start. but its good to know that there are stock options if i go that route, thanks guys
