i think your map is on the firewall and that one one the throttle body is just to put the vacuum hole.

The original map sensor is on the firewall, on a bracket with a solenoid or two. In your first pic I can see the vacuum lines at the top of the frame. The plug won't quite reach the sensor on your throttle body but IIRC you can cut some tape and cheat enough slack from the loom to make it work.

You DO need to use that TB-mounted map, because the firewall one no longer has a vacuum source.

so i need to unplug the map from the firewall, stretch it to make its way to the sensor in the center of the pic?
    whats IIRC???
    sorry new to this forum.
the car also smokes like it has burnt piston rings, but im hoping this map sensor issue will help to fix that,
there could also be a vacuum hose leak somewhere, but i cant seem to find a diagram for a d15b2/z6head.

    Yes, or extend the wires.

    If
    I
    Remember
    Correctly

there was enough slack in the map sensor for it to stretch across without me cutting anything (SWEET)
but still blows smoke, effn rings, so im looking for a new motor/block, thanks very much for your help!
