Noob with 80 wagon

Hey guys! New here, but not new to forums. I recently got a 1980 civic wagon for $1500. Its cllleeaannnn. I swear... its the nicest/cleanest/lowest mile civic ive owned, and ive owned ALOT!
1980 civic
1.5 5speed
23k miles (with how clean it is, theres no doubt thats its 23k)
backstory.... old couple had it... died.... it sat, and sat, and sat, and sat. then a grandchild got ahold of it, rebuilt the carb, new fuel tank, new lines/hoses... but didnt set the carbs right, so it leaks gas. rebuilt again, gave up... DONATED it to a ..goodwill? but it accidentally got sold to the guy i got it from, he fought for the title since i guess you cant sell a donated car. but anyway, i posted up a want to buy on craigslist for a first gen hatch.. he emailed me, i DROVE TO OHIO to look at it. then, he flaked out and said he wasnt ready to sell. SOOOOOO, 3 weeks ago i emailed him that if he had changed his mind, let me know. he emailed me monday, picked it up last night! WOOOOT. before i even got out of ohio, i got stopped at a gas station from a guy staring at it, asking what it was and what year, and commenting how clean it was
im happy.

Same center caps as mine.
Very nice pick up.
Wow, that is a killer find. Actually, now that I think about it I my have seen the craigslist posting for this very Civic. Where in Ohio was it?
Interesting. There was a Civic wagon, same year, same color, that was on craigslist a couple weeks ago. I wish craigslist had a look back/caching function.
Little update. After the new master cyl, blead the brakes for a good hour before I got clean fluid and all the air out of all the lines. Pedal is FIRM now, going in to work tomorrow and going to high speed buff it with some polish and wax it, then clean the interior out, take the brakes apart, clean and lube everything. Machine the front rotors, prolly do something with the rear drums (making alot of noise back there). THEN get me a 1980 Indiana plate and get her registered so I can drive! Woooooohoooooo
Definitely get some pictures of it all cleaned up. Always nice to see an old car back on the road again.
Welcome sir

so, its been a LONG month of brake issues... FINALLY FIGURED THEM OUT TODAY :woot: put the weber carb on there last week... got a new master cyl, blead the CRAP out of the brakes, had to drill out blockage in the rubber lines in the back. new wheel cyl in the rear, new rear shoes as well. THEN machined the front rotors and took her for a drive... WOOT. feels good.
also, cleaned it inside and out today. buffed, washed, then waxed the thing. got some before and after pics
