Well people have said look for a wheel around +35et offset. Sooooo obviously if you convert backspacing to offset that will answer your question, yes?
Because Im feeling in a generous mood I used this really secret website to find an answer (dont tell anyone as if the word gets out the the website I used will crash, but its called www.google.com ) and found this:
An 8" wide wheel is 203.2mm wide, so from the inner lip of the wheel to 0et is 101.6mm.
Your back spacing is 5.5" which= 139.7mm so you remove the 0et measurement from that (139.7-101.6=38.1mm)
So a 8" rim with 5.5" back spacing has an offset of +38et which should fit just fine.
However I would recommend going to 15" as not only will they fill out the guards more and look better, they tyres will have a smaller sidewall which will flex less resulting in better handling and if/when you upgrade to 262mm front brakes the calipers will fit behind the wheels better (you can fit 14" wheels on 262mm brakes but clearance is too close for decent brake cooling)
Well the model i was looking at getting only allows from 1.5"-5.5" backspacing, and i would get 5.5", So 5.5" of back spacing on a 14x8 wheel, you think thats to much offset?
What up Aaron. have you checked out my build? it can give you somewhat of an idea. And as far as brake clearance goes they dont clear the front. you have to shave down the caliper some. but theres enough to shave off. doesnt matter what size wheel either. its just the curve of the rim in back
The only make 15x8s with up to 5" back spacing so thats +25 offset, is that not enough?
ya i shaved caliper at an angle. offset has nothing to do with anything on this wheel for clearing the caliper from what i understand. its just from the back of the wheel where its placed on hub its flat and then curves up and back. very hard to describe i should just take pics if its a must. oh and pic of civic coupe im sure those are 10 wide in rear.

+25et is LOWER offset than +38et, they will sit out 13mm more.
If you run 195/50 or 195/55 tyres the rear will fit fine with just the camber induced by lowering the suspension (about -3degrees depending on how low you go which is a decent amount but not too excessive)
The front is where you will have issues, I have 15x7 +25et wheels with 195/55 Tyres and I had to fold the lip of the front guard over to stop rubbing, again with completely unadjusted camber which I think is at about -2.5degrees, they didnt rub with 195/50 tyres though.
So with a 8" wide rim you would need to run a 195 tyre (profile up to you) which will be stretched which isnt exactly optimum for performance but will give you more clearance plus you will probably have to roll and pull the guards a bit more than I have to get them in without adding more camber.
I have a +35 and am running 205/50/15s. I had to roll the fenders though. I had 14s with 195/60/14s and they were great, no rubbing and no fender role. Maybe this helps?
What im asking is, is there even a tire that would fit 14x8s that wouldnt have to be stretched? i tried looking but nothing came up, all i could find 185/55/14s, anyone know of anything ?
edit: Just found some 205/55/14 but im looking for a lower profile, hmmmmm
There are a wider variety of tires but they are expensive. Toyo proxes are one off the top of my head that I know make a tire that'll fit the desired rim width that you want.
I found actually quite a big selection of 205/55/14s, most of which are high performance tires but there are some that are not, still would like something thinner but i guess ill be ok with that
Just check tht site tyrestretch.com. shows u. Its not just about stretched tires. Not sure how low ur gonna go but a 14 inch wheel with a 45 series tire is small and might not look good unless ur super lowlow
What?
How are those even slightly Diamond Racing STEEL wheels?
But to answer your question, if you really want to spend a lot of money on some very light wheels then by all means get the Spoon wheels (made in russia by Regamaster) however I know a few people in NZ have had issues with them cracking when used on a daily.
They are quality wheels but for the price there are better options

I say to each his own. Some go for that "Hella Flush" look, some for pure fuction ie road racing and some just stay stock and clean. I happen to like ONI camber but it all comes at a price. Tire wear, being too low etc etc. I like diamond racing wheels because they're cheap and you won't feel bad thrashing them on the track or hitting a pothole for that matter. The red civic shown in this thread is a perfect example of Oni camber. They tried to mix rat euro style with jdm style. Does it work? eh.. but again that's just my opinion. Whether you buy sprint hearts, mf 7s or diamonds is totally up to you and your style. I say go for it!!
These are by far my favorite wheels. But i do not like the stance of the eg in the pic. I seen a few like that at the echm in va. I was like. Wtf. But its all in what you like.

so pavement, how much would i have to shave off? a mm or 2?

okay cool thanks man was just curious
Your opinion on camber has absolutely nothing to do with this topic. Please dont go off topic in tech threads
