Did i fry it?

ok so i was having trouble with my wagon starting, so i took the main relay out and resoldered it put it back in and nothing not even a light. did i fry it?

    How the hell could we tell if you 'fried' it?

    Get another one, and see if it works!

    If you were not careful with your soldering, you could very well have made a solder bridge between 2 critical terminals that lead to a fuse getting blown. If you can take a close up picture of the soldered side of the main relay board that we can clearly see the solder joints, we MAY be able to help you with this.

    well i just went and got a new one. but thanks for being nice and trying to help.

    So did the new one fix everything, or did you have to replace any fuses as well?

    new one fixed it but it idles high sometimes now, and today the temp gauge was going up and down, all the way to the top (hot) and back down to the middle, it would not stay still.

    Well that has nothing to do with the relay.

    Dont ever let the gauge get too hot, that=dead engine pretty quick.

    Replace the thermostat and bleed the coolant through. Could be either a faulty thermo or air bubbles in your coolant system

    I find it always seems to help when filling the coolant to grab and squeeze the lower and upper radiator hose till the air bubbles stop coming out, you can watch it from the cap. I did this to my 89 CRX with a b18 and it completely solved my getting a little to hot for my comfort issue. Also you might wanna invest in a failsafe thermostat that keeps it from sticking in the closed position if it did happen to fail. I have some friends that only run OEM Honda thermostats.

    I also had a issue with my temp gauge in a wagon once because the multi-ground on the left side of the bay behind the passenger side headlight didnt have the best connection, so when i turned my high lights on the temp gauge would max out. Crazy issue ive never heard of before haha

    I think that since its been 5months the issue has more than likely been resolved ;)
