Will these wheels fit?

I found some wheels on cl that I am thinking about getting but am having a hard time finding if they will fit. They are 16x9s with 225/40/16s. From what be researched on here some people said that try are running 205s with no issues. The only thing is I don't know the offset, but either way, would I have to modify anything to make them fit width wise?

    Wow! They sound a little too width to me... I currently have 185/55R16... I hope that you have found yourself a good deal; otherwise it is not worthy the headache... Good luck anyways!!

    try it the only way to see is to measure or just put them on. I'd think they would fit with some gentle massaging depending on your suspension setup

    It seems to be a good deal. I'll see if he'll let me try them on it. I just don't have a jack/ tools and he's out of town. So well see, anyone else have an idea if they'll fit?

    Stock height? They would probably fit, you might have to use spacers tho.
    Lowered or dumped? Not without some serious camber.

    I've heard of people running 195s on 16 inch rims with no problems but not 225s. If you are lowered than yu are going to have to do some serious rolling on your fenders to get those to fit and lots of camber. If not than you'll be rubbing and scraping the he** out of those tires against your fenders. Even 225 50 15s on a wagon is cutting it close. It's up to you though. If you get the rims than you'll have to do quite a bit of modifying to get them to fit on your wagon. Good luck on your hunt and hope it all works out for you.

    Ok, I am lowered on Tein full body basic plus' and I autocross with my setup. The rear was rolled and pulled just a little bit (can't and do not need to do a whole lot there). I obviously did quite a bit of body to the front fenders but bare in mind that I have no body working experience what so ever.

    You can not run 225-50R16's on a lowered car because they are much bigger then stock, hence why I am running 225-40R16's. The only downfall to this tire size is the fact that only one company makes tires, Falken 512's.

    Oh, and I have yet to have any rubbing issues.

    Well I think ive decided against them. They were borbet type t's he didn't know what offset and he was an hr + away, they were really cheap though. Jiltedjester, the tires were 225/40's and they were toyo proxies just for reference.

    Actually Toyo no longer makes that tire size. Trust me I searched for 2 months straight trying to find tires that weren't Falken 512's.

    Are you looking for a wide set of wheels and tires or were you just looking into them because they were cheap?

    I was just looking because they were cheap. He has them posted for 250 and they have good tread.

    I would buy them just on how cheap they are. Do you have pictures or a link to the sale?

    My car is quite a bit lower than the one pictured above (Full Tein TYPE HA with Suspension TEchnique drop forks and LCA) and at full lock on the wheel I rub a bit. Luckily here in Germany I can get just about any tire size so I will be trying something with more stretch here soon or I will be modifying the body some more to make this work better.
