rt4wd tranny, 5 speed swap?

ok so my rear diff is a little messed up and am haveing major doubts about pulling it and replacing. I am just wondering if anyone has actually removed the cable shifter setup and went back to maybe an si 5 speed tranny? that is pretty much removing the 4wd components of course. i have a b18b waiting for me to build, would like to make it a b series with no 4wd, anyone have a solid answer for this? how hard is it to revert back to conventional linkage?

  • maybe i wasnt clear? its not that i have not searched, just havent found my answer. the my rt is a manual, i just wanna know how hard it will be to remove my cable shifter assembly, reall do not want to cut and weld. if its a bolt in affair, then its gonna get done. just wondering if thats all it is. i could not find anything on the searches for this :( a ton of auto to manual, but no manual to manual.
