new guy from Or3gon!! xD

Hello everyone, my name is Phil. Im 27 And reside in eugene oregon. First off I must say, im really excited to be a member of this forum. I've been lurking for quite some. Time and I am really impressed by the knowledge, creativity enginuity and build I've seen on here. You all seem very helpful and friendly.

So recently (this weekend) my dream came true and after years of waiting, I finally obtained my very own wagon.
needless to say, im very very excited. I've wanted a wagon for so long its disgusting.

So the story begins;
last week I was talkingto a man who went to church with my mom. I was telling him how much I lived his wagon and he says " you know I have another one identical to this one. Only its fwd. If you want it, you can just have it."

So I go this weekend to pick her up, and instanty fall in love. The body glass and interior are in perfect shape. No rust at all and the engine (which runs) has 128k on it. He bought it because he needed the hood and fender.

The only issue with it is it had been "wrecked" aka the headlight housing was bent up a little.

What it needs is : radiator, battery, hood, driverside fender, and a headlight/assembly.

For free? Pffft. No problem.

Here's the pics!!

annnnnnnd DOMO!

Not bad.. FO FREE!

Thanks for reading!!

I also found a F22 w/o tranny for $400. May go that route instead..
Seems like it'd be alot less work than a b series.

Not to bad at all, with a good price attached to it. With a little tlc you can make it look presentable. How's the rust, i couldn't see any.
  • Thank you :) no rust. But I put the starter back on. New battery and rarities tried to fire it up. But but no avail.
Popped the spark plugs and there is water in three of them.. the left the hood off for a while and the water got inside im guessing.. so we will see after I dry it all out.

Also didn't hear the fuel pump engage when I turned the key to aux..

    Gotta start somewhere though!

    Pretty bummed..

Time for a swap I guess.

Sorry to hear about the troubles. Good luck and congrats on a great (free) find. If only all were so lucky.
  • So I cleaned the spark plug holes out. Put in New plugs and wires. Need a new cap and rotor. I have gas up in the carb.. still nothing.

I have a feeling im better off pulling the whole engine. I can pick up an efi d15 nonvtec for $150. The engine had no hood on it for quite some time. Years Actually.. so who knows how much corrosion rust and bad grounds ill dig through.
What do you guys think? Oh yeah. And I broke my big toe today scrapping an old 3/4 ton front end. Woot!

If the interior is mint, please don't "blackout" the whole thing and get DC seats, a lot of people would love their's to be mint... just my $.02

Well, if you're going to swap it get an engine you want to keep, unless you just need to get this thing going right away. But an engine alone might nt be the solution.

Can you confirm if the fuel pump isnt doing it's job, with an extra set of hands?
  • Webmaster I turn the key I don't hear the fuel pump priming. I picked up a Main relay today for a couple bucks. Ill check the relay and pins for lose connections and try the other relay. If that doesn't work im dropping the tank and checking the pump. If the pump works ill move to the distributor. If after all this work of troubleshooting im gonna stop worrying about it and get the front end straitened out and put together and start saving for a better swap. I have a daily driver so there is no "rush" but id like to get it going asap ya know?
  • She's alive!
So After replacing the ecu, main relay, fuel pump, alternator, alt belt, plugs/wires and distributor. It finally not
Only turned over, but started up like it never had an issue. So after an 8 year coma its awakened!!! Tomorrow I pick up my hood and stat putting it back together! Thank jebus. Not gonna lie. Im pretty proud of myself.

Also, I fixed all the body damage on the passenger side headlight. :)

Thank you all for all your wonderful help a knowledge. You're all kick ass!
