Tighter Shifter? - 4WD

Ive been used to driving Short-Shifted and Polybushed Hard linkages on Hatches for the last 4 years.

But the shuttle doesnt compare! the shifter is SO Sloppy! Is there anyway to tighten the shifter to make it feel more precises and notchy like a short shifted Hatch.

I understand the cables have lots of play which is why they are sloppy?

    does it still have the original oem shifter in it?

    Yes.

    I have looked at Modifying the cage, so the ball sits higher and extending the arms for a shorter throw.

    But i wanted to see what other people have done?

    ok i was jw because i know the collars can rust up in there and start to wear away and become sloppy. i used to have an old 4dr ef where that happened. i replaced the collar, bushing, and bolt inside of it and it def helped alot.
