please convince me...

Hello, my name is jesse. I'm from Harrisburg PA, and I don't have a wagon...yet. I currently have an ef sedan and am building a k swap for a new car. Its gonna take plenty of time to be ready to drive so I'm thinkin of getting a wagon for it instead of my sedan. Any ideas or issues I should know that are different than the sedan? Any help is greatly appreciated...

Ok...so its been about a week since I joined. I did lots of research and I think the wagon is the way to go. Plus I found a beautiful wagon in my junkyard that needs saved from the crusher. And my son thinks its the coolest car ever. Should be starting a build really soon now. I will be sure to update. I know there are people out there like me who love reading others build threads like I do.

The K series swap is the same as it would be in the sedan. If you are familiar with Charles Madrid(aka: Dr. Charles) he did a K24 swap a few years back into a wagon and even appeared in a magazine article.

I've owned sedans and now currently own a wagon.

I'd take a wagon over a sedan any day. Got more room plus they have the ugly but cool factor.

I actually thought about that. My sedans a sloppy dd I picked up when I had my son since I drove a crx then. Might keep them both since ill own them both anyway...I hate car payments and love ef's ee's.

Well guys...I'm gonna have to put any wagon plans on hold. Turns out my dd 91sedan I mentioned needs tons of work to pass inspection. Soooooo...there goes my money I was gonna buy wagon parts with. But I still have a spare swap that I'm saving for a wagon. Maybe I can still have it for my own personal graduation present in a year and a half. Still gonna hang on the sight though. Very informative here...and everyones much more nice than most forums. Thanks for checkin me out.

Also...JoshuA...just noticed your avatar. Is that a bansky?...if I'm not mistaken...

i use to live in PA, but moved to CA. Be thankful you only have to pay a $36 registration fee. Also, be glad you only have to deal with inspection and emissions. Cause in Cali, we gotta do smog tests and the horrid stock only unless you go BAR.

Well everyone...I visited the junkyard yesterday after work. The wagons still there for the saving. Didn't have enough funds on me to buy it but the owner assured me its not going anywhere. It actually still runs. He even parked it behind there building so no one could strip it. Should be mine soon. Fingers crossed. Also...is it possible to run a d15 head on a d16 block...not ready for a k yet but wanted to frankenstein something to drive in the meantime.

u just said it runs... y even worry about a swap if u cant afford the salvage yards price to get the car to start with ....

i gave $200 for mine & it sat n a field for over 5 years.... and all i did was replace bad parts ( fuel pump, front brakes, some coil thing and distributor cap..)
and ive put over 38,000 miles on mine n less than a year ..

I couldn't imagine how much the owner of the junk yard should be asking for a Civic Wagon. I actually found a 1991 RT4WD in great condition at a dealership in TN. They're asking 1,700 for the car, but it has no rust; with 110k miles. They also offer financing with bad credit. You're looking at 40-60 dollars 'A MONTH!' I might take a stab at it, the only thing stopping me is the 650 mi trip (approx. 11.5 hrs one way)

I'm def pickin up the car within the next 2 weeks. Just need to get a day off when they're open to buy it. I had the money when I stopped buy just not on me physically. The only reason I ask about the swap is because the wagons a d15 and automatic. I have a d16 in my sedan that's manual but needs headwork. I was gonna make the wagon manual and use the d15 head on the d16 block when I swapped it over. If it works. All this is no charge. Being done in my garage. That's the only reason I ask. I do however plan on driving it as is for at least a month or two.

So does anyone know if that idea will work?
