starter problem

my awd swap i put in. i swapped z6 with 90 dx 1.5 clutch and flywheel and i had to use the starter off the 2wd. it wont line-up is there actual starter that belongs withe awd tranny?

    I believe they are different.

    Clutch and flywheels are the same.

    Things that come to my mind:

    Is the starter from an automatic?

    It's also possible, but I'm not sure, that the 4wd and 2wd starters will be different...
