250K miles, ugly, rough to drive - but man, is it dependable

I paid $1800 for a 1989 with 234K miles on it, and all I've had to replace is the brake pads in over 2 1/2 years. Yes, she's ugly. No, she doesn't ride smoothly. And yes, it's tight with a family of five riding in it. But I absolutely love my car. The kids call her Honey; the Odyssey we had was called Homer. But only Honey gets the love, especially since that piece of shit Ody's transmission finally died.

I dread the day I have to buy a new car, but that day is coming.

But still, I think I'll keep her. One day the kids will go off to college, one by one, and will need something truly dependable, easy to maintain and repair, and fuel efficient. And that's my Honey.
