Yay or ney rattle can roof

replaced the front motor mount -48
got rear motor mount-45
two cans of gloss enamel
two cans of primer
two cans of clear coat
80 grit
120 grit
1000grit
1500grit
no final wet sand of 2000 grit and polish yet but will do that this weekend..
+40
and i ordered led corner bulbs that was like 15
i also spoke to koni about getting my shocks revalved im saving up for a new set completely which will cost about 475 shipped which is better than koni direct with the warrenty kindaaaaaaaaaa disapointing koni..
im pretty drained i did all this off 3-4 hours of sleep and did a final spray after work just like 1 hr ago.. im pretty pleased so far, once i do a final wet sand and buff and polish i think it will look alright for the price, def. better than letting my roof continue to rust and look hella shitty. :D

I'm confused. What color is your car?

Need to back away a little some we can get a feel for the whole color scheme.. I think it probably looks cool.. Put it out on the raod in the sun and take a picture.

I am pretty sure you wheels are on the wrong sides. I had similar wheels back in the day and the spin pattern is meant to spin the other way..

^ they have prints on the inside saying left or right, its pretty hard to get wrong lol

    the cars blue

Oh, I had very similar that rotated the other way..
  • klumklum Senior Wagonist
maybe you had yours on backwards ;)
if you think about it the way the wheels i have spin in a way to fan the rotors
  • Need better, daytime pics before I decide.

With the wheels that way, it sucks air out from under the car. Kind of like ground effects! Sucks the car down onto the road. That's Formula 1 technology (well it was from the 80s).

    Better pics...
I can dig it... Goes with the stripe and wheels...
Now, need to find some sort of caps for those wheels though, even old steelie metal center caps would be good....

Different & that makes it cool..
  • klumklum Senior Wagonist
thanks yeah its damn near impossible to find the oem centers i got another set of enkeis that need caps as well once i get those rebarreled im gunna have the caps custom made for both sets thanks for the postive
    feedback!

Who you going to use to mod your Enkeis? Are you talking adding some width? Welding in an insert?
  • klumklum Senior Wagonist
im goin thru dave at www.memoryfab.com
their local and the only one i know of that can do it around here its gonna cost a pretty penny im gunna rebarrel them to 8inches wide with a 3 inch lip or so. and get them widened to a 16" thats the only way ill be able to add a lip on that

Lovin the color scheme. Very sick.

It looks good, especially in comparison to the old rust and fading. Im having similar problems with mine.
Probably going to try this out.

Thinking of doing the same to mine. Was going to paint the whole car, but just got 2nf rust repaired. When I get it back, going to spray can the hood and roof myself.

My only issue is the rattle can paint seems to last for about year. I rattelcanned a sunroof and 3 years later it was mostly back to the original color
