Howdy Folks: 1985 DX Wagon

I'm new to this board with my Japanese vintage, 1985 Civic Wagon DX (2WD, 3-SP Auto @ 76 HP). I purchased this car new in June 1985 from Wilde Honda of Waukesha, Wisconsin. As options, I purchased the automatic transmission, air-conditioning, floor mats and an AM radio. She's running at ~ 280,000 miles today. I've replaced the AM radio with a Kenwood AM/FM/CD model. I replaced the engine with a Jasper, remanufactured 1.5L @ 235,000 due to a camshaft snap. I also replaced the entire air-conditioning system two years ago. KYB struts were installed @ 210,000 miles several years ago, along with CV's and ball joints. Parts don't last forever, but this car still runs like a breeze...

This car has been garaged-stored and serviced regularly throughout the years -- Wilde Honda (1985-1986); Alpha Omega Acura/Honda of Warrenton, Virginia (1986-1997); and Pohanka Honda of Fredericksburg, Virginia (1997 to present). Pohanka Honda installed the new engine and air-conditioning unit. Honda parts are becoming a bit more difficult to find, but as of today this car is in excellent condition.

She's a real joy to drive, but the automatic transmission doesn't provide for blasting acceleration. I tend to stay over in the right hand lane for I-95 driving, but I'll compete with almost any car on the exit ramps! This car has remarkable handling response.

I tip my hat to Honda for quality. I drove my first Civic in 1974. I hope to purchase a 2010 Fit in the near future.

Enjoy your wagons...

Here I am again, after a year...

I have a few pictures to post from an earlier request. The car just passed its inspection for the next year, and it's running very well.

I purchased a new, 2010 Fit from Pohanka Honda of Fredericksburg last August. What's interesting is that both cars came from the same assembly plant in Saitama, Japan. Maybe this '85 Civic Wagon has transformed into the Honda Fit.
