Newbie has an '88 EE2 wagon

Hey I just learned of this site from the new Honda Tuning. Read about the blue wagovan, and having one myself, I am intrigued to be here. I'm from Illinois, just a couple hours SW of Chicago.

Just gotta say, wagons are handy for being unusually ugly.

The car has 168k miles, bought it at 164k off an old guy in town. It's completely stock, and ran good after a few replacements of ignition and fuel. Well I did put a sri on, but stll nothing major.

Had a big problem though he other month during winter. When the blizzard hit, my car got burried in and the next day I had to dig it out. It was so bad the engine bay was caked in snow. I did scrape out all the snow I could, and managed to get it running. It was fine until a couple miles later it started to dog out at low rpms. Not much later, it died when taking off from a light, and wouldnt crank over. After trying to jump it and push start it, I decided to call it dead. I believe snow melted and got inside and hydrolocked it, possibly spinning a bearing.

Dunno, but I am kinda parting it out for money as my focus is on the Integra I have and a 90 GSX. lol

Uhm... I hope all this isn't because some snow melted and got in the dizzy cap. I got a drop of water in mine and it does what you describe exactly. Stumbled around real bad in low rpm then finally at a light it dies when I go to accelerate and the more cranked it nothing happened, except backfiring and blowing out my rusted muffler more.

It would not crank over, and drained the battery when I tried to start. It is siezed, because I cannot move the cranshaft manually with a wrench while in Neutral.

It is funny, there is an exact model of my Wagon in the small town I live in. Its a tan model, the rust is almost identical, but I am not sure if its Manual or Auto. Some old guy drives it, and some friends were like "I saw your car, bu some old guy was driving it."

It took a bit until I actually saw it myself, but never got the chance and talk to the guy. Just ironic that the only two wagons in a 50mile radius are exact copies from two strangers. lol
