NOOB from canada

brand new to HCW.com and wanted to say hi!

i am not yet the proud owner of a wagon but i come to you for guidance. the wagons are a rare breed here in the great white north (well at least ones that are for sale) I have managed to find about 4 wagons that i am looking at buying. so i come to you with help in picking the right one :)

the choices are as follows:
1. 1987 civic wagon rt4wd- guy said it needs a new timing belt but runs great if it had it. he wants $400obo
2. 1991 civic wagon DX 2wd- Car was in a minor dinger in the front. Passenger side fender is ugly, missing a corner light. cracked windshield needs a new battery. wants $700
3. 1988 civic wagon 4wd- i have contacted the seller asking for more info asking if its a rt4wd or not among other things. wants $2200
4. 1990 civic wagon ?- i just found this one not even 20 min ago so i have to email the guy and figure out whats what. the posting says it in great condition with minimal rust pics look good. wants $1500

so yeah those are all that i have found and wanted to know what you all think. if any of you canucks know of any other wagons for sale (either in Ontario or British Columbia) let me know.

- Matt

in regard to my choices for wagons the 91 2wd dx seems like the best choice (though i would love to have a 4wd) only because the 91 is located in Ontario. is it hard to find a replacement for the windshield? or what about getting a new passenger side fender and corner light? or should i hold out for the 88 4wd or the 90 wagon I'm assuming is a 2wd. i have emailed both sellers in hopes of more information but no word back yet. anyways i really would like to buy one of these awesome rides and i would appreciate any help from HCW.com in making my choice

    thanks again

the wagon i just got had a broken windshield and the guy i got mine from said it was the last one in the warehouse... most likely not nationally so i think u should be ok there

    fenders are a no go.

corners, i believe interchange from something else if im not mistaking. hopefully someone can chime in on that

thanks robb. that is basically the only one i could find (the other 3 are a no go)... i guess the timing of me being a wagon owner just isn't right.

i have a question or two if anyone would care to answer first off is what do you think of this wagon:

    http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/rds/c ... 72981.html

other info: has 322000km on it. its a 2wd sadly not a rt4wd :(. i will put the extra pictures he sent me on here. i did notice that it looks as if the plastic around the steering column is missing. how hard is that to replace? the car does look in decent shape though. stupid question but knowing the car has 322000km on it how long could i expect the wagon to last? a year, 2 years, 6 months... i love and want a wagon very much but if it's not gonna last me at least 2 years i don't feel like investing the money.

oh and has anyone had a car (wagon included) shipped to them from the place they bought it from? like in my case from BC to Ontario.

thanks again for all your help!

its a 20 year old car, it still looks like its in great shape... do you think its going to fall apart in 6 months? perhaps it will with all the salt they use back east...
