87 wagon. Super low idle in sharp turns. Then dies.

Ok, so last night I was cruising home and took got off I-5 onto 14 for all you guys down here in Portland you probably know the turn. I was going about 45-50 and as I got about half way through the bend the rpms dropped to about 200-300 for a few seconds and then the car died. Popped it out of gear and coasted to a stop, pumped the gas, fired back up and off we went. Thought it was a one time deal but it happened twice today and it only happens during turns so im going to assume I have something loose since it fires back up once I straighten out and stop. Now the thing is when I start it back up. It runs a bit rough for maybe 30-45 seconds starts up goes to about 1200 rmps then drops back down to 200-300 rmps and then finally evens out at 700-900. Then for the rest of that trip until I park it and let it cool down whenever I come to a stop the idle is a bit erratic but never dies.
So, ya I haven't done any sort of tune up yet since I got the car but might be where I need to start unless someone has any other ideas.
Cleaned the carb out a bit today had a bit of build up around the butterfly's so the erratic idle wasn't nearly as bad as last night but its still a bit off.
