just picked her up on the 16th, 251k.
most importantly, seats, do ones from any other car bolt in?
what's the cheapest way to reduce body roll? strut tower braces? or?
can i use a d17 shortblock with my d15b2 tranny, head, intake, FI, ECU, etc etc?
are there any holes in the firewall big enough for a 4ga wire? or should i just bust out the drill?

i am loving this honda so far except the lack of torque and the insane body roll.

welcome and great find... the wagon looks clean...
  • did they come from the factory with the part of the hatch between the license plate and the window painted black or is that something one of the PO's did?
  • In my 89 I have delsol seats in it but I heard da seats fit you just gotta shim one of the back peices.

    Good find for sure,

Welcome. Nice solid car you found.

All of your questions are discussed in depth throughout the forums (learntosearch), but I'll give you a quick couple answers:

No seats simply bolt in. Seat swaps are more complicated than that and require some custom fabrication.

Strut tower braces do NOTHING to minimize body roll. For that, you want an anti-sway bar (or simply, "sway bar"). Your front already has one. So either add one to the rear, or install a larger one for the front. Of course, stiffer springs and a lowered ride height will help also.

    good luck!
  • thanks guys.
  • would this be a mount for a sway bar or is it just some random piece of metal?

i found some aftermarket LCA's with the hole for the sway bar linkage or whatever on CL for $20, the guy says "94-01 integra, 89-91 crx, 92-95 civic,93-97 del sol, and possibly more civic models" and according to somebody's post on here integra LCA's work

if that pic is of the front factory tow hook you can use it as a traction bar mount.
  • that picture is of the rear, near one of the exhaust hangers, it probably is a tow hook, that's the only thing that makes sense... i've been reading around the forum about mounts, some people are claiming CRX monts need minor modification, some are saying integra mounts are the same, some are saying with the integra set up you need custom mounts... i guess i have to go find an integra and/or CRX SI at the salvage yard. if it doesn't work out honda parts are easy to sell.

Nice ride! Welcome to the site!
  • great link, thanks, i guess i didn't go back enough pages when i searched
  • Welcome! Nice wagon.

SOme of your questions are already answered, but I can tell you the D17 is completely different from the D15/16. SO no, that shortblock will not work with a d15/D16 head. Also, the longblocks are completely different. You would have to fab mounts, use the OG tranny (or make a old D to new D transmission plate), etc.

damn, thanks, i guess i will try to find a d16 block cheap then have it bored out to whatever size pistons i can afford at the time
