Im lost! I want to look at the marketplace but cant!?

Hello, I am trying to look at the marketplace, and cannot access it because is says that I am not permitted. Even though I am an owner of a 1990 rt4wd civic wagon, and am registered under grantRT4WD ...? My car before I owned it was wagon of the month June 2010 (i think) its the sky blue one with gs-r fat fives, but that was when another user on here owned my car...so I cant make any threads, or look at the marketplace...any info would be much appreciated, thanks -Grant

  • HCW provides a Marketplace section where members can buy and sell cars and car parts. HCW is not responsible in any way for the trades undertaken in The Marketplace, please understand that trading here is at your own risk. Caveat Emptor.

Once you have introduced yourself with a post in the New User Introductions sub-forum, you will be automatically added to The Marketplace Group once you have made five valid posts within the general forum.

you need to read the rules buddy.
As another new user, the rules were difficult to find. A link to them only showed up after clicking one of the top forum section links, which aren't very obvious. A link to the rules should probably appear on the main page, or in the welcome email.

    what I'm talking about:

As a new member when you signed up you clicked "I have read and agree to the rules" where a link to the rules was provided. If you didnt tick that box then you wouldnt have been able to sign up ;)

They are also in the "News and Announcement" section which states:
"Any News, Announcements or site information will be posted here. This section should be your first stop when you join the forum so you can read about us and the forum rules."

Seem pretty easy to find to me

Did you read everything in the rules? It says that if you can't get access after your intro and 5 post than to PM Haydz.
  • GizmoGizmo Wagonist
Didnt get that far though, cheers

^^Do so next time, please. It really pisses off the mods and admins when people don't read the rules and complain/ask many questions when it is all explained in the rules that they didn't read in the first place. Thanks

I realize that stupid and unsearched questions are always a hassle on forums, but this IS the New User section... Jumping down a guys throat for asking a question doesn't sound like a great way to welcome them.

It's always easier when you already know the answer.

    Actually, it says:
    THE RULES wrote:
Once you have introduced yourself with a post in the New User Introductions sub-forum, you will be automatically (emphasis mine) added to The Marketplace Group once you have made five valid posts within the general forum.

but I'm sure you knew that, since you read the rules.

Anyway, all I'm saying is there is a lot of information on the main page, and having the Rules posted a few clickthroughs deep isn't very helpful. I actually spent some time looking for them (including reading the whole FAQ, a seemingly obvious place to find at least a link to rules) and STILL ended up in this thread.

Now that I have voiced my opinion in defiance of the hive, I'll just be waiting over here in the corner for the banhammer to swing around. Later!
  • that was a whole lot of useless typing about something that it only takes a few seconds to find...i hate stupid people.

When every 10th thread in this section has the same answer its very easy to find ;)

When you enter that section the rules are at the top and are clearly laid out in a very easy to read and understand format.

Failing that as with any other forum before you start a thread asking a question the first thing you do is search to see if it has been covered before, searching "marketplace access" brings up 51 results

Small point of order; then I relent :P

The "Rules" ("Terms," as per the button) you are referring to, in no way, shape, or form, resemble or refer to The Rules indicated previously. I will refrain from quoting them, as that would be messy.

The question remains, however: Do I need to PM a Mod, or no?

I hope you understand I've just been having some fun, please don't ban me!

I concede, it has been a long time since I signed up. And yes the terms are not the rules, fair point.

However.....I did a search just to see if it would in fact answer your question

So yes, you need to PM Haydz or I believe Charb can also do it now
