Help With Front Locking Mechanism

I'm not entirely sure which forum would be best for this to go into... but I have an issue with the driver's side door lock mechanism. I can't lock it from the inside, it just squishes down a little and then comes back up. I can unlock from the inside, and I can lock it using the key from the outside... does anyone have any suggestions? Is there a part that I can get to replace the whole mechanism (except for the barrel since I don't want to switch keys :P)

    are you saying it won't lock with the door closed or open?

    If the door is open and you are trying to lock it, you have to old the door handle up and then push down on the lock. It's a (don't lock your keys in your car) feature honda did. It would let you lock the door without the handle up. Hope this helps.

    dont mean to thread jack this but what if you cant unlock the driver side door from the outside?

    ^^Probably fell off the hook. They are held on by little hooks inside the door itself. Take your panel off and check the hooks to see if they are all still connected. It also might have broke off the hook.
