Fuel pump, main relay or wiring?

ok guys need some help. my car wont stay running so i naturally assumed main relay. i listened for the 2nd click when i turn the car over but no lights came on in the dash. i dont hear the fuel pump so i pulled my good main relay from my wagon but it did the same same exact thing? i even changed my dizzy thinking coil but same results..nothing. i dont know if its a ground from relay to pump or the fuel pump its self? i have even checked the ground on the thermostat housing. im stumped so please someone come through with the problem. thanks everyone

^^Check fuse #14. Pull it out and really look at it. Sometimes they look good but are still messed up.
  • yah. fuse. it happened to me and i had to leave my wagon alone in a parking lot for one night, and turned out its just the fuse.
  • Nope #14 says alternator solinoid something I replaced it and same thing..I looked through the coverf and saw nothing about fuel pump? Thanks for the fast response guys

    ecu fuse under the hood?
  • All fuses are fine. When the key is turned all the way over like to start it without the clutch pressed in the fuel pump kicks on and all cluster warning lights work? Does that mean its ignition wiring or a swititch I missed? I'm gettin desperate and can't afford to take it to a mechanic

Ignition switch pigtail, maybe. Especially if fiddling with the key makes a difference.

The more I read your posts, that's where I'd go. The actual contacts are in the rotary switch behind the key lock.
  • Mr bam I owe you a beer or 5 :D I sanded those points and it fired right up. The 2 little screws were a pain but in the end it fired up so thank you again

    de nada...
  • Well here's the shitty part I just started it up and as it was sitting warming up it just cut off again? Now its doing exactly what it was before. Can you replace that whole piece behind it or is there something I'm missing
  • Well it turns out that black piece where all the wires touch was broke in half. I just pulled the whole assembly from my white wagon runs like a champ now
  • awsome!! good to hear you got it fixed! now, all you have to do is enjoy it. lol.
  • i have man im still gettin all the kinks worked out
