He's Alive!

Not sure if this is in the right area, if not please move. Put it here since there are problems in all areas. Thanks mods>

Rain or shine I wanted to plug in my newly repinned harness. All in all, even with the rain, my wagon a.k.a. Jefee is alive. Sounds healthy after I was able to crank it over.
Good news and bad news. Good news is it is running now. Bad news is that the tranny will not go in gear even after adjusting the cable, headlights are not working all of a sudden and even though the o2 sensor was not plugged in there are no codes not even a cel. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
Here is a link for my video of the rebirth of my wagon after being down for 5 months.

f'n sweet - glad you were able to come to the shop and get that harness done. If the engine is off, can you shift through the gears?? Sometimes the o2 sensor won't trip a CEL until you drive it around - it has to reach 600 or so degrees for the ecu will even start using it in the first place - usually doesn't happen if it's just idling.

Yeah, if the engine is off than I can go through the gears but when it is on I can't. Thank you so much for helping me with the harness, hope you enjoy the lip. All I plugged in were the major plugs, iacv, iat and that's it. This is why I'm wondering why the cel wasn't on. I had it running for awhile to let it warm up. What do you think about the tranny?
  • stampernstampern Senior Wagonist
Almost think something with the clutch isn't disengaging right - only thing I can think of really. Which plugs didn't you plug in?
  • JDMWago666JDMWago666 Senior Wagonist
I plugged in the 3 major ones, all injectors, 2 alternator, eacv, iat, ground on thermostat, both tranny wires and the one underneath the dizzy.(I think that's a temperature sensor). So no, on the one that we switched the 2 outside wires(think it's the tps or map), none on the block under the intake mani and no o2 sensor. It was just a test run to see if it would start. Why would the clutch not disengage though?

Either your cable isn't tight enough or something is funny with your clutch. If you push the clutch in with the engine off, but tranny in gear, will it roll?
  • JDMWago666JDMWago666 Senior Wagonist
No will not roll with it in gear and my foot on the clutch.
  • stampernstampern Senior Wagonist
See if you can tighten up the cable some more. Also try starting it with it in gear (like they said on IMS) but best do it in the street.
  • JDMWago666JDMWago666 Senior Wagonist
How tight should it be? I can barely tighten it anymore than it already is.
  • stampernstampern Senior Wagonist
I don't know if it's possible, but since it's been sitting for so long, I don't know if clutches can rust to the fly wheel or not.
  • JDMWago666JDMWago666 Senior Wagonist
So all in all, should I drop the tranny and replace the clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing? If it's good than do you have a alignment tool for the clutch?
  • stampernstampern Senior Wagonist
Ya, we may have to, and I do have the tools. I would still try starting it on the street with it in gear.

Did you get this motor and tranny already bolted together?
  • JDMWago666JDMWago666 Senior Wagonist
    No, got them seperate.
  • stampernstampern Senior Wagonist
Did you have any problems when you assembled it?? Anything really hard to get together?
  • JDMWago666JDMWago666 Senior Wagonist
No, everything work out well when putting it together. Lined up the clutch, put the pressure plate over and bolted everything down. It was easy cuz it was out of the car when I did it.
  • stampernstampern Senior Wagonist
How does your clutch feel? Is it pretty much the same pressure the whole time, or is it soft then gets harder?
  • JDMWago666JDMWago666 Senior Wagonist
Same pressure the entire time. Gets harder as I tighten it though.
  • stampernstampern Senior Wagonist
Hmm - really weird - it's gotta be something funky with the clutch though.
  • JDMWago666JDMWago666 Senior Wagonist
Yeah I'll drop the tranny and see whats going on in there. Got the harness cleaned up almost but ran out of tape :(
  • stampernstampern Senior Wagonist
Do you wanna do it at the shop?
  • JDMWago666JDMWago666 Senior Wagonist
I'd have to figure out how to get it there.
