Howdy, from Tx

I recently purchased a 85 AWD that has been setting in the back of a field, the original owner just left it there. I bought this one, because when i went to see about grabbing davens' ride, well, lets just say, I couldn't wait to see if I could get it. Nice little site. 8)

bryman
not a bad purchase for
a penny
when yar gonna show us
your move
Original papers found under the rear seats. (The owners wife didn't know the seats moved around) She drove the car from 85 to 90 And her husband drove it from 90 to 94 when they parked it to use as a farm car, and let it set. THe only thing I have to do know is clean the windows, prime the carb, new timing belt, new waterpump, and brake fittings, and tires.
Man, talk about an all blue interior.
Now for some artistic stuff.

It's been sitting for how long?? Be sure to test the brakes real good! I bet there are lots of leaks.
wires, plugs, cap, rotor
brakes, brake rebuild on the calipers and pistons, and possibly brakelines
rad fluid (its clean and green, no rust even in the radiator, which i found odd)
water pump, timing belt
filters (all 4 of them)
new transmission oil (is it still 10w 40?) New differencial oil (what weight is that, and is there a gasket I need to get or is there a plug to fill it from?)
Tires (they're dryrotted)
Engine oil, after I recirculate the old oil through to relube the motor that has been setting untouched. I get to turn the motor over by hand a good 50 rotations for the top end. So it will be filled with 10w40
I am also going to inspect the motor mounts for degradation, no use in fixing up an engine and transmission if you can't keep it in the car.
I am pulling the cv axles and rebuilding them (yep, I will rebuild them, not send them off.)
I need to get a washer bottle (I have one here somewhere) Its the only major damaged item. It has become so decomp'd that when I touched it, it fell apart in my hands. Tx is bad about drought prone areas, and some cars fare well, others the plastics turn to dust on them.
I will drive it with the old suspension on it until I can locate some new shocks and struts for it, Possibly springs, but that still is in the future.
I don't know if you can tell in the pics or not but the front bumper lenses are going to come out and stock replacements are going back in, right now there are trailer lenses inside it. They look ok, but they bug the crap out of me. I will probably put an hf valve cover on it or an 85 si valve cover and I am going straight with a 32/36 dgv webber setup. I really want to see how the old 3bbl carb held up after not running for 15 years. Oh that reminds me,
new fuel lines, fuel pump
Inspect the wiring thru-out the chasis, Just to make sure the fieldmice haven't taken part of them.
Oh, yeah, I need to get some Seafoam for the tank. The only bad area on the paint is right by the fuel door where the fumes have expanded and leaked out to the ground, taking the clearcoat with it.
someone already did it with a smart car though
UPDATE: Carb needs to be rebuilt.
ooooo la la
Oh, I named it The Yamato, after the Starblazers cartoon.
But she will dress up as that for halloween from time to time.
BTW I had an 86 civic DX hatch that same color as my first car.

There's a beater wagovan build on Honda-tech that is styled after the A-team van.
