i've done some looking around, and all say not DOT approved. should i have to worry much about that? and all the places i've seen sell it for $330 shipped...is that a good price for the kit?
Not sure about north america but here if they aren't DOT approved then you wont get a warrant of fitness, which is required to have your car on the road.
FINALLY got a deal on those HIDs. my friend in taiwan finally pulled thru and got them ordered for me. he'll be bringing in a set for 9006, 6000K. i cant wait, but i wont get them in until around mid-May.
here's the thing. these are double filament, meaning ive got lo and hi beams. but they arent gonna be wired right, so i was wondering if it was safe to wire my hi beams to this, so when i flash the hi beams, the HIDs will flash too. it can be done, but is it safe?
As for dual high/low HIDs, they are typically meant for single reflector setups.
I only know of two ways to accomplish this...
HID low beam paired with a standard halogen high beam:
Or
HID "shielded" bulb that exposes more bulb when high beams are on:
Realistically, you only need the lows.
Our stock high beams work great, and since the lows stay on with the high beams, it will be plenty.
hmmm im pretty sure my buddy was talking about the H4 or H1 he ordered, not the 9006 he ordered for me. so most likely i wont have the dual hi/lo. i know they arent filaments, i just couldnt think of how to put it.
what i was thinking of doing, just to get a really good set up was to get these HIDs in, and spending a pretty penny to buy some PIAA or Raybring 9005 bulbs. something that produces a white light so match with the HIDs if i feel the need to use my high beams.

what hid kit did you use? looks bright
you can clearly see the difference..stock vs HID.
