Tail lights and rear defroster.

ok, i have a 1990 wagon. everytime i turn the lights on, everything turns on besides the main tail lights. but when i step on the brakes, they work. heres what i mean. only the lights on the hatch works.

then my rear defroster aint working and the rear wiper. fuses are good.

    Bulbs, fuses or get a test light and check all the sockets in the main tail light area. Use the test light to pin point where the problem could be coming from.

    the bulbs are perfectly fine, and fuses are cherry. it was working before i did a motor swap.

    thats what im thinking. its just hard to see cuz its snowing(srprisingly) here in TN. but i realy dont know which ones which. theres so many of them damn ground wires. lol.

    JDMWago666 is right.Follow the line down till you get voltage.Check lite sckt contacts.
    Same thing for the wiper/defogger...trace till you get voltage.
