New guy from the philippines

hello ive been snooping around hcw since 07 but never got to register up until now. its not a wagon but a 4 door 96 civic turbo vtec-e so traction is a bit of a problem. i got carried away and got the awd drivetrain from japan. tried mounting it before. fabbed up a tranmission mount but the front axle wouldnt fit w the old tranny, i hope i got the right axle this time. so now its back to fwd until we find the time to work on it. i go to school and now with a newborn girl ill just be snooping back again and not working on the car.

  • well i only got rear shots that i did for hidplanet. converted the tail lights to full LED's while the wifey was pregnant. ill get more pics next time.. sorry

  • Jeebus that seems like a time consuming project. I would be interesting to see those in some rear clears. :)
  • What was the reasoning behind keeping a VTEC-E? Surely a Proper D15 or D16 would make better power, especially with the turbo?

  • hello boss, im keeping vtec-e because i love it. i mean a linear torque band starting at 2k rpm all to the end, 20:1 afr, roller rockers, also great because i cannot get past 7000rpm, ive spun bearings before hehehe and this seems to keep it from breaking. ive had d15b before and it was great.

    since its 4wd already, the gearing has changed and messing up the lean burn maybe ill put in a 3 stage vtec. i can use the extra hs switch from the aem ems to drive the second solenoid and keep using the nitrous maps for the lean burn mode.

    the engine is a japanese vtec-e, i get the best power @5500rpm... past 6500 it goes faceplant. just so everyone knows, the philippine vtec-e can rev at least 7500 and make power. i know this because iwas doing it before going to d15b.. so my choice is get this cam again or get 3 stage vtec and hopefully i dont spin any bearings
