Vents smell like piss.

Hi y'all. I picked up my first wagon a couple weeks ago. It's a 91 rt4wd auto w/126k miles. No sunroof.

It's in great shape, the a/c n heat both work, but the one issue I've got is when I turn the blower on the vents smell like piss. Do you guys have any quick solutions to get rid of this smell?

I've had crx's n 4g civics for a large portion of my life... I don't ever remember there being a cabin air filter. If you have any quick solutions lmk.

    hmm, check around where the air first enters make sure theres not leaves and debris gathering, seems weird that something would pee down in there....you can pick up those little air fresheners from wal mart or some where, they clip into the vents so it blows scented stuff at you kinda girly but some of them are strong, lol and then there this, true story, friend of mine worked as a janitor and his car smelt moldy so he took a unused urinal cake and stuck it under his seat, it lasted for a couple days till he took it out. was waaaay to strong, smelt like we were riding around inside of an apple

    Remove your AC evaporator and get rid of the rodent nest. I've seen this twice, and the piss smell is exactly that...rat urine.

    Sometimes antifreeze can smell pissy too, no?

    As for the smell, the strongest thing I know of is a public washroom deodorizer (they're the approx 4"x4"x10" white boxes you see a a gas station pisser, usually mounted up high). Open one up and you'll find a can of fragrance with a fat wick sticking out of it, blown across by a small fan running off a D battery... they reek, and are always wafting, even when the car blower is off. A handy fella with a screwdriver could probably get one himself... and find a nice tropical scent too.

    Now you won't smell like piss, just like a urinal. Way different.

    seriously.... i think bam bam pointed you in the right direction! Rather than mask the piss scent, I'd prob try to get rid of the piss causing the scent!

    mine smelled like that when i first got it, it went away though...
