New member in the PacNorthWest

Hi everyone,
Just wanted to introduce myself to the GREATEST FORUM EVER ! . My name is Sean , I live in Portland Oregon. I have been a custom fabricator in one form or another for almost 20 years now. Got started professionally when I was 17 doing car audio, then moved on to autobody, then to the horsepower side of things( engine building/swaps,designing & fabricating turbo systems, nitrous systems, engine management/tuning), and my last gig in the automotive feild was doing custom chassis engineering( suspension, roll cages, etc). I now work in the trade show industry running the metal shop for a scenic&design company. When you go to a trade show and you see those huge display booths, thats what we do. Its a big change from the automotive field but its alot of fun and it makes getting to work on cars as a hobby alot more fun as well.
Here are a few of my past personal builds...

So 2 months ago I didn't even know the wagon existed, sure I had passed them on the street but never even gave any it thought. Then I totalled my Allroad....

So I really didn't know what to get...I knew I wanted something with good gas mileage that was 4 wheel drive to get me back and forth to the mountain to go snowboarding...AND I ABSOLUTELY REFUSE TO BUY A SUBURU....if you live in the Pacific NorthWest you know how many Suburu's are on the road here and the particular class/type of people who drive them....so what to get, what to get....well without further ado....heres the best $700 I have EVER spent in my life...the 91' RT "WickedWagon"

I had been watching Craigslist for about a month, checking about twice a day and I found "WW" just outside of Portland about 3 hours after the guy had posted it, so I frantically called everyone, scored a ride, jammed down to Albany, test drove it, offered the guy $500(cause thats just what you do w/ Craigslist) and he go's "look dude, I've had 18 phone calls on this thing in the last 3 hours"...I could tell by the look on his face he had no idea what he had when he posted it and was just pissed he didn't post it for twice what had...so I said here's your $700 , drove it home and have been driving it ever since. At first I got it just as a "whatever" till I got something else...but to say this car has grown on me would be an understatement...I FRIGGIN LOVE THIS THING....I'm sure you all can relate...I've been driving around for 2 weeks on $30...so it's gone from a "whatever" to me really wanting to do something w/ it....I hope to make it worthy of its name before too long
So far I have got my Helm manual (a must)...pass side mirrior, power windows, spare driveline, extra set of rear trailing arms, 92 integ knuckles w/ 10.3" rotors/calipers(a good friend of mine owns a wrecking yard, I told him he'll being seeing alot of me)....my EnergySuspension bushings are on the way...and thats it so far but hopefully w/ some time, energy and some help from all the cool cats on this forum I hope to build a monster
Also I just finished installing my u-joints from Rockford (that I found because of this forum - THANK YOU!)...I ordered an extra set so if anyone in the PacNW region needs some I'd be more than happy to show you how I did mine and give you the extra set for what I paid
So thats me and my new project, glad to be here - Cheers

Thanks...it hurt to see the Audi go, I had alot of work in it but I really think it was for the best because I honestly like my $700 shitbox rattle-trap better(it won't be like that for long hopefully)....$30 in the Audi's gas tank would bairly get me down the street...
Welcome!
Love the scout!
Here's my scout 1971 800b
anyways pm me and get my number.
NICE SCOUT! I thought about building an 800 after I built the yellow one , but "life" smacked me in the face and I could'nt afford to built anything for awhile...I've never built 2 of anything but if I ever was to... the late 60's to late 70's International's would be on top of the list..."corn-binder" owners are even more fanatical than us wagon owners can be if you can believe that :P
Hole-e-sheeyat, what up bro!...small wagon world....I've got a few things up my sleeve for the wago...PM'd w/ my #
I believe it and know it! I frequent the binder clubs!
