Fixing a dented roof?

My friend jumped on my roof and left a big dent in it and now it flaps in the wind with the windows down lol

How would i go about fixing this?

yeah i was pissed, it was perfect to :'( but oh well now i just need to fix it
  • You will probably have to pull the headliner out and see what damage he really did. I would guess one of the supports is no longer attached and bent as well.

Oh yeah and I second the kicking him in the jewels.

Your friend is awesome  You WILL have to pull your headliner and redo all your supports that he bent. Sounds like he should help you fix it too!
  • not sure if you have a pic posted cause iam at work and they block all pics but i had the same kinda thing when some crap fell on my roof in the garage and i just went to home depot and bought a new rubber plunger and with two good sucks (lol sounds funny) it was 100% but i had not a crease in it to start so not sure if thats your situation. but yeah plungers work great for big dents like that.

One of my roof supports was bent so mine kept flapping in the wind as well. But I used dynamat on the roof and also put dynamat between the support n roof. This helped weigh down the roof and keeps it from flapping now.
  • I bought my Wagon from ShaunK with the proverbial dented/flapping roof and lived with it for a while. One day when I had the front seats out for some reason, I thought what if I crawled into the car, and stood with my back against the ceiling and just pushed up? I figured I had nothing to lose, since the roof was already caked anyways. I felt with my hands through the headliner to find the support braces, and did my best to push there with my back. I had to push up 2 braces.

As you can see in the pictures from my "Member's Ride" thread, the roof is almost perfect. If I hadn't told you just now, you wouldn't know the roof was ever dented.

I have this issue with my wagon as well. I have yet to pull the headliner to see where the braces are located. My plan is to glue a thin sheet of balsa wood inside then finish it off with dynamat.

Seems to be pretty common with the wagons, since they are so thin.
