New member in toronto

Just introducing myself- original owner of gold 1988 wagon with 210,000 Kms. Very proud of this car, and hoping to keep it for some time yet. Will be repairing a little rust and trying to do a switch of front driver/ passenger seats since the passenger seat has been used so little. Very few of these cars visible in Toronto- would love to hear from others. Congratulations to all of you who've done so much to save these great cars!

  • Wow! An original owner, and fellow Canadian :D
    Welcome aboard.... got any pictures?
  • Yes, I had a photo shot the day I bought the car in july 1988, then had another one taken on its 22nd birthday this year. Will attach when I get home tonight. I noticed your car is a 4WD- mine is just front wheel. I never referred to it as a "wagovan" but a Honda Civic Wagon. Do you know the difference?
  • "Wagovan" is a trim level (actually the lowest, with the least bells-and-whistles).

All Wagovans are Honda Civic Wagons, but not all Honda Civic Wagons are Wagovans.
  • My car is automatic transmission, front wheel drive, with an upgraded tapedeck (still no CD player) and speakers in front only. I also bought a neat accessory- a stow tray that slides on a bracket under the front passenger's seat, and had air conditioning installed. In 2002, I had a body shop cut away the rusty areas and re-painted the car. The original colour wasn't available, so it came out a bit darker than the 1988 Laguna Gold Metallic YR-87M. I am just having the rust situation assessed again so that I know whether to replace the car or not. I hope not! I'd like to drive this car another twenty years. It seems like most on this forum have not been driven in Canadian winters- Toronto is very hard on cars.
What do people do for a cup holder? I have submitted two photos but they aren't showing yet.
