Three Years in the Making; that or I'm just Really Late!

I joined up three years ago and never did introduce myself...didn't mean to be anti-social, I've just been kept really, really busy with a coupla major back surgeries. If anyone has back trouble, let me be the first to suggest you do Whatever It Takes to avoid surgery. No Exceptions.
I'm in the Dallas area, and traffic here is merciless on I-35E. There's always something in or on the road which wants to rip your front lip off or tires apart, so all my mods have been for the purpose of surviving the worst of Dallas highways. My 89 wagon ("Spot") is fwd, but I treat it like the 4wd's; with some larger wheels and Cooper tires, we don't shy away from headin' off road...and the kids love that!
Fave mods are the wheels/tires, truck bed liner in the back end, four-spoke steering wheel, and the accidentally-fitting K&N filter which plugged directly into the stock air duct work! The wife and I just got back from a 5-day long road trip down to Austin and didn't think twice about taking Spot. Bought it with 218k miles back in '07, after the trip now we're at 255k.
The vast amounts of information on the site have been absolutely invaluable over the years...so, cheers to all and thanks for reading!

The intake
The 3D H emblem
The wood grain armrest (actually, jealous)
That wagon seems like it's gotten a lot of love!
heh...thanks!!
The armrest was an ebay thing, I think it was for an '03 Jetta or some other VW. Fitment is tight between the seats, but functional, and the chicks dig it. :P
The intake filter actually improved throttle response, plus $20 for the K&N vs $16 for the stock replacement? Hells yeah.
And did I read correctly that you had a OEM bull-bar just gathering dust in your attic?
Site rules clearly state that:
"....unless bull-bars are mounted on a wagon, that member MUST be pestered unmercifully by other (newer) Member's incessant requests to sell them said bull-bar, until the prohibitive shipping costs are realized the potential buyer, however, once said bars are mounted, the pestering obligation becomes only optional following the posting of any picture showing bull-bars... "
J/K
I'm diggin' the love you guys...sincere thanks to all.
Truck bed liner: YES, it was free! I found a used car dealer (the shady kind) who was pulling all of them out of his used trucks and letting them collect dust behind his building. Eventually he put em all in the dumpster, which is the equivalent of a big "free" sign in my eyes. I liked the color of the silver one so I nabbed it, sawz-all'ed it into shape and it simply rests down in the back. Then I got the idea to use the vertical part of the liner (with the logo) for the split back seats since they weren't lookin' all that hot either. It was simple but with fantastic results! I HIGHLY recommend this mod to anyone with enough time! I've heard there's tie-down spots in some of the utilitarian wagovans...would love to add some of them if that's possible...stuff does tend to sliiiiiide around on the liner (only real drawback).
Attic-residing bull bar: Well, I got it off ebay nearly three years ago and it's definitely NOT an OEM. The person said it came off their wagon but didn't have pics of it mounted up. A few days after it arrived I went in for my second back surgery (to fix the first back surgery...hmph) and it's just not a project I'm able to hit right now. Heck, I have a new set of Sens-a-Tracs waiting for the right time for me to get to it. Took two weeks to accomplish the last full brake job. Yaknow how people start to look like their pets over time? I guess I'm starting to look as slow as Spot (88hp or so, automatic, air conditioning)...heh...
I'll pull it out and do a test-fit this winter. Where there's a will there's a way, right? I'll keep the 3D emblem tho...I suddenly like it a lot more now that I can see the big H in the middle!
and I like ur sig nose and props on the bar
Yaknow, I just went on ebay and I couldn't find the same armrest either. This one was definitely aftermarket, so I'm sure one will show up on ebay sooner or later by some seller somewhere (prolly Hong Kong or China)...I'll keep my eyes out and holler atcha if I see one I recognize!
