Where to find good motor swap

hey guys, im going to be trying to get my wagon back on the street and i am thinking of attemping the 2wd to 4wd conversion. i am wanting to keep the car automatic b/c my g/f will be driving it once in awhile. for now i plan to get the motor and tranny bought and in the car. so, any ideas where a good place to find such parts? i found the tranny on ebay for 400 plus shipping. i was wondering if its possible to put a stronger motor on it like a d16y8? i would like to have vtec and awd. the awd is going to be a long term project but the car driving on a daily basis is priority. any ideas?

    Buy a complete parts car.

    Parts car for the 4WD stuff. Craigslist for a motor. I got a Z6 for $150 w/ trans, and the only thing wrong was two dropped valves.

    now what is a z6 and is it an awd tranny? auto? i might be sending you a check.

    Nope, the z6 is a sohc vtec motor and the trans is 2wd. Just pointing out that there are some really good deals on craigslist. Now, finding an AWD trans might be tough. Another option is using car-parts.com. That is a good way to search local yards.
