Antenna options and fitting of head unit

So, last night I finished up a radio harness for a Sony Xplod head unit which replaces my dying OEM Honda one. Put it in this morning and I have music again. But now I think I need to replace my antenna. I'll probably go OEM style one but was wondering if anyone has used something else.

Also, has anyone used the scoche (sp?) plastic fitment things sold at walmart? The Sony Xplod head unit needs more support to fit right. As of now the center console is out and the head unit is just sitting on the hump.

Thanks!

any aftermarket antenna will work (aslong as its designed for the civic) harada/scosche/bosch all work fine. When you put the Sony in, it should have come with a Sleeve to lock it inplace. With that installed into the oem radio mount, it should be secure, you can always put a back strap from the radio to the rear oem support to double it up if required.

No sleeve as the radio is used. Do those radio install kits have sleeves? I'm sure they would right? I could always fab something up.

In regards to the antenna, I was looking more into different types, like those that run along the top of the windshield, or those shark fin looking ones.

Aftermarket dash kits don't come with sleeves.. hit your local bestbuy/ car audio shops and ask if they have one.. you need the sleeve and mounting arms/face trim ring. Windshield antenna's work ok.. the scosche version is called the WMA and Autoloc has one that I use called the HAB.. you could always hit the wrecker and grab a oem roof one such as mazda 3/vw golf.. just drill the hole, and run the wire..
